The Governor’s Council of Economic Advisor’s Executive Director, Stan Ahlerich will take a new role as Executive Director of Workforce and Innovation at the Kansas Department of Commerce.
“We at Commerce are very happy that we will continue to reap the benefits of having someone with as much experience and knowledge as Stan Ahlerich,” said Kansas Commerce Secretary Antonio Soave. “I am thrilled to see what Stan’s innovative nature will bring to Commerce in the future.”
Ahlerich will continue to serve the Department of Commerce through heading up the JumpStart Kansas Entrepreneurs program, direct the agency’s efforts to develop innovative workforce solutions, create manufacturing opportunities for businesses across the state and research the best ways to work with the three research universities in Kansas.
“I’m looking forward to continuing in this role supporting the Department of Commerce,” said Ahlerich. “I am eager to accept the challenge that the Secretary has given me in finding and fueling key areas of innovation that will continue the state’s progress.”
Secretary of Revenue Nick Jordan was announced as the new leader of the Governor’s Council of Economic Advisors. The Governor’s Council of Economic Advisors provides economic insights directly to the Governor through assessing local, national and global business conditions and trends. The council continues to evaluate the significance of those conditions as they relate to Kansas, research the topics that are of important to Kansas and report them directly to the Governor.
